Port-en-Bessin, 2.7.2026
Normandy, France 2026
Port-en-Bessin, 2 July 2026 is a photographic series created during a single day in a small harbour town in Normandy, France.
The work developed through movement, pauses, and immediate observation. The photographs focus on light, the built environment, the sea, people, and small details that together form a temporary experience of place. Rather than attempting to describe Port-en-Bessin comprehensively, the series is built from individual observations and fragments.
I was there only briefly. This temporary presence became part of the work itself: I had no previous relationship with the place and no established way of seeing it. The gaze was formed through movement and in the moment. Port-en-Bessin, 2 July 2026 explores how a place begins to take shape when it is encountered for the first time and what remains of that encounter through a limited collection of observations, photographs, and memories.
