Wedding Photography
Where art meets genuine moments.
Wedding photography in Finland — Helsinki, Southern Finland & Lapland.Available for weddings in France and across Europe.Bookings open for autumn 2026 and 2027.
Documentary wedding storytelling and natural, personal portraits. My approach is relaxed and unhurried.I want you to feel comfortable and at ease in front of my camera. My work brings together thoughtful planning, clear guidance, genuine moments and the connection between you. In wedding portraits, I want to capture above all the feeling of being together, your chemistry and the way you naturally interact. One of the things I enjoy most about photographing weddings is the variety. At times, I work almost like a photojournalist, observing unobtrusively while remaining fully present, capturing genuine reactions and meaningful moments as they unfold. At other times, I get to focus on portraiture and create editorial-inspired images. Whenever the day allows, I can choose a setting, offer direction and look for the gestures and poses that feel most natural to you. I also pay attention to the carefully considered details and decorations you have spent time planning.Perhaps the most moving moments for me are the speeches and toasts. Having been part of your day since the preparations, it is particularly touching to hear how those closest to you speak about you and your story.
For the LOVERS
who live their love
and let the moment BREATHE
My Philosophy and Approach as a Wedding Photographer
A wedding day is not simply a sequence of individual moments, but a whole that evolves and changes throughout the day. I find inspiration in the way the day unfolds and how its rhythm is reflected in the photographs.
I work by observing and anticipating. I plan your wedding photography from beginning to end, listening to your wishes throughout. When I know what matters to you, I can recognise the moments that hold meaning for you. Planning does not mean following a script. It means you do not have to worry about the photography on your wedding day.
The best photographs often come from moments that have not been planned or directed. Glances, gestures and small reactions that happen in the midst of everything else. These are moments that cannot be repeated, but that I can capture for you.
Couple portraits are part of the same story, not a separate part of the day. I always offer enough guidance to help you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, while leaving room for movement and natural interaction. I am not looking for perfect poses, but moments that feel like you.
I see documentary wedding photography as an artistic way of looking at a wedding day. My photographs come from observing and being present, giving moments room to unfold and take shape without needing to recreate them.
My Photographic Style and Editing
The style of my photographs is romantic, authentic and natural. In documentary wedding photography, I aim to capture moments as they happen, while always bringing my own artistic vision to the final editing.
The colours are true to life and soft, with just a touch of warmth. Light is allowed to be present, shadows are allowed to remain, and the overall image has room to breathe. Couple portraits are part of the story, complementing the documentary coverage with gentle direction and a considered aesthetic.
I love the feel and aesthetic of film photography. Although I shoot with a digital camera, I carefully edit my photographs to give them a film-like quality, adding subtle grain, softness and an organic feel. The result is not clinical, but alive and timeless.
Light is an essential part of a photograph's atmosphere for me. I work primarily with available light, but when needed, I thoughtfully use additional lighting — flash or continuous light — so that my photographs retain their soft, natural appearance even in challenging lighting conditions.
My aim is for the photographs to feel the way your wedding day felt when you were there, in the moment.
I Might Be Your Wedding Photographer If…
You value atmosphere more than perfect posing and hope for photographs that convey how your wedding day felt, not just how it looked.
You feel more comfortable being in the moment than performing for the camera, and the idea of a relaxed, sensitive approach to photography feels right to you.
You want to put your trust in a professional and leave the responsibility for the photography entirely in their hands, so everyone can focus on what truly matters on your wedding day.
You hope your couple portrait session will be a lovely little pause in the middle of your wedding day — a peaceful moment for just the two of you to move, laugh and be present. A moment when photographs are taken, but above all, memories are made.
You don't need to know how to be in front of the camera. You just need to be.
YOUR INVESTMENT
To give each wedding day my full attention and photograph it without rushing, I take on a limited number of weddings each year.
Most wedding photography bookings range from €3,000 to €4,000.
The photography is always planned around your wedding day.
Bookings are now open for the remainder of 2026 and for 2027.
How It Felt to Be Photographed
“Being photographed for our couple portraits felt surprisingly natural and effortless, even though we're not used to being in front of the camera. Salla gave us just the right amount of guidance, which made us feel confident and allowed us to genuinely enjoy the experience. During the wedding celebrations, she moved around unobtrusively, and the photographs showed us moments we hadn't even noticed ourselves.”
— Linda & Aleksi
“Even those of us who are less comfortable in front of the camera were able to relax around Salla. The photographs turned out beautifully and were full of atmosphere. They captured exactly the warm, heartfelt feeling of our wedding day.”
— Jatta & Arsi
“Salla put a great deal of care into preparing for our wedding, taking time to understand who we are, our style and our wishes. The result felt completely true to us, and the photographs exceeded all our expectations.”
— Nina & Marko
Our Journey Towards Your Wedding Day
Wedding photography begins with getting to know each other. I want to hear about you, your wedding plans and what matters most to you. Once we have gone through everything together beforehand, you can relax and focus on the day itself when your wedding day arrives.
On your wedding day, I give events room to unfold and follow the natural course of the day. I photograph moments as they happen, and during your couple portraits, we take a little time just for the two of you. I offer direction and gentle guidance when needed, so that you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera.
After the wedding, I back up all the files, carefully review the photographs and take my time editing them. The result is a gallery that allows you to revisit the atmosphere and moments of your wedding day, even years later.
You don't need to worry about the photography or any of its details. I’ll take care of the entire photography process and make sure everything is under control.

I work calmly and thoughtfully. Good communication and trust with each of my clients are essential to me, because they are directly reflected in the photographs. I welcome all couples, including LGBTQ+ couples, and I want everyone I photograph to feel respected and free to be themselves. When being photographed feels safe and effortless, the result is photographs that stand the test of time.
In my wedding photography, documentary storytelling and artistic interpretation sit alongside each other, creating a collection that is both timeless and personal.

How Booking Works
Booking starts when you get in touch. We'll then arrange a short phone call or video meeting. Feel free to tell me about yourselves, your wedding day and any thoughts or wishes you have for the photography.
Together, we'll talk through your plans for the day and what matters most to you. It's also a chance for us both to see whether working together feels natural and right. Getting in touch doesn't commit you to anything. It's simply an opportunity to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit.
If you decide to book me as your wedding photographer, I'll send you a photography contract to review and sign, along with an invoice for the booking fee. For documentary wedding photography bookings of eight hours or more, the booking fee is 20% of the total price.
From then on, you won't need to worry about the photography or its practical details. I'll help with the planning and take care of the photography arrangements, so you can focus on your wedding day and be fully present.

Wedding Photography FAQs
How would you describe your photography style?
Romantic, authentic and natural. In documentary wedding photography, I aim to capture moments as they happen, while bringing my own artistic vision to the editing process. The colours are soft and true to life, with a touch of warmth. Beautiful couple portraits, created with gentle guidance, complete the collection.
We feel awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?
I completely understand! I work with the natural connection between you and offer simple prompts and guidance to help you feel as comfortable as possible. And I promise we'll have fun together, too!
How many photographs will we receive?
For documentary wedding photography, I deliver an extensive gallery of carefully selected photographs that tell the story of your day.
On average, I deliver around 70 photographs per hour of coverage. For example, an eight-hour wedding typically results in approximately 500 to 600 photographs.
For wedding couple portraits, I also deliver a generous gallery of at least 70 photographs of the two of you.
Can we see complete wedding galleries?
Of course! Just get in touch and I'll be happy to share complete wedding galleries for you to look through.
When will we receive our photographs?
During the week after your wedding, I'll send you a generous preview gallery so you can start looking back on your day.
Your finished wedding photographs will be delivered within six weeks of your wedding date. I carefully review and edit the photographs to ensure the finished collection reflects the atmosphere and story of your day.
Are you insured?
Yes. I have insurance and can provide proof of cover if needed.
How does the booking process work?
We'll first arrange a phone call or video meeting to talk through the details. This also makes it easy to plan everything together if you're organising your wedding from abroad.
I'll then prepare your wedding photography agreement. Your booking is confirmed once the booking fee has been paid, and this amount is deducted from the total price.
For documentary wedding photography bookings of eight hours or more, the booking fee is 20% of the total price.
How will we receive our photographs?
Your finished photographs will be delivered through a password-protected online gallery. You can download your photographs in full resolution as JPG files and share the gallery link with family and friends if you wish. You can also order high-quality fine art prints through the gallery.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely. I love travelling and I'm always happy to photograph weddings beyond my home region.
I'm based in Finland and photograph weddings throughout the country, including Helsinki and Lapland. I'm also available for weddings in France and elsewhere in Europe.
I'm happy to discuss any travel and accommodation costs when preparing your quotation.
What equipment do you use?
I photograph weddings using professional Canon cameras and high-quality lenses. I always bring multiple camera bodies and lenses as backup equipment in case of technical problems.
If you'd like, I can also take Polaroid photographs during your wedding day as a small, tangible keepsake. I can also photograph selected moments on 35mm film for a small additional fee.
What if the weather or lighting isn't ideal?
I'm used to adapting to different weather and lighting conditions. I always make use of the available light and surroundings, and when needed, I use additional lighting to maintain a soft, natural look.
Unexpected conditions can often make the photographs especially beautiful and unique.
What if our schedule changes on the wedding day?
Wedding day schedules almost always change a little, and that's completely normal. I'm used to working in changing circumstances and following the natural rhythm of the day as it unfolds.
Small changes to the schedule are no problem, and when needed, we can adjust the photography to fit the flow of the day.
